My name is Evan Mark, and I am the founder of Check Mark Fitness. With over 7 years of coaching experience, I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with both a Diploma and Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. Like many people, my fitness journey didn’t start with confidence or clarity. I stepped into a gym over 13 years ago with little understanding of training, anatomy, or how the body actually adapts. I followed free workout programs online, hoping consistency alone would deliver results. Instead, I experienced inconsistent progress, recurring injuries, and growing frustration. That experience not only became the turning point for my own personal growth, but also the birth of Check Mark Fitness.
Check Mark Fitness was founded to provide an opportunity for people to make physical and mental fitness non-negotiable priorities in their lives, using evidence-based exercise literature as a framework. Taking what has been proven to work and applying it to hundreds of different lifestyles and starting points in a way that makes sense for each and every one. To make one’s Mark is to take control of your health so that you can live a long and sustainable life that you truly deserve. Sporting Background
I have an extensive background in sports, namely playing high-level soccer since a young age and continuing on to playing as a college athlete and at a competitive adult level in Vancouver. In addition to soccer, I have also played 9 years of competitive baseball, volleyball, and kickboxing.
Sports, like health and fitness, are another one of my strong passions in life. This has led me to successfully train a wide range of high-level athletes, including hockey players, baseball players, basketball players, and boxers. By utilizing my educational experience within high performance conditioning and exercise science, I incorporate both functional and sport-specific training regimes in order to get the best out of my athletes, as well as to prevent injury.

Fitness is individual in its own way in that it is always relative to goals, experience, and responsiveness to different types of training. However, although this journey is personal, it is not something that has to be done on your own. Whether you are rehabbing an injury or surgery, are a beginner that has no experience, an advanced lifter looking for ways to reach full potential, or an athlete looking to take it to the next level—We are offering our extensive knowledge and passion to help you become your very best self in half the amount of time using the latest research! You will learn everything we wish we knew early in our fitness journeys, along with all that we know now through experience with various populations and the ever-changing studies in exercise science . This further includes nutritional information, detailed workouts that emphasize form, and constant motivational tools to overcome barriers.

We aim to continue what we have started providing a coaching experience where the ways in which you can improve you skills and better your health full circle are endless.
