Founder

My name is Evan Mark, and I am the founder of Check Mark Fitness. With over 7 years of coaching experience, I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with both a Diploma and Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. I am also a Pain Free Performance Specialist, Pain Free Knee Specialist, Lifelong Performance Specialist, and Movement Assessment Specialist. My fitness journey started how many peoples’ have started—no confidence, no structure, no direction and no knowledge. This stage can and did last years, but looking back 13 years year later I can whole-heartedly say that this was meant to happen. After following free programs and realizing that they lacked cues, progressions, and long-term structure; I began to pick the brains of those who have lived it, coached it and seen it.

This was the turning point that sparked my commitment to learn everything I could about exercise science, performance, and long-term health. What began as curiosity in Grade 9 evolved into formal education, countless professional certifications, and a career built around evidence-based training. Today, physical and mental fitness are non-negotiables in my daily life. I am a deeply passionate person that shows through everything I do in life and this passion is fuelled the most by helping others avoid the mistakes I made all those years ago. I now have a deep-rooted understanding of exercise science that when combined with both my personal and coaching experiences, has proven to be the formula for changing hundreds of lives.

Confidence is built through knowledge and action, which is what I aim to instil in all of my clients. My expertise lies within both traditional and functional hypertrophy, as well as life-long pain-free performance. I ensure that my clients have the ultimate experience of building muscle, lowering health markers and living pain-free lifestyle doing the things they love the most.

Sporting Background

I have an extensive background in sports, namely playing high-level soccer since a young age and continuing on to playing as a college athlete and at a competitive adult level in Vancouver. In addition to soccer, I have also played 9 years of competitive baseball, volleyball, and kickboxing. Sports, like health and fitness, are another one of my strong passions in life. Being and feeling athletic is something that I believe everyone should aim to acquire.

When I think athletic I think motor skills, cognitive skills and the ability to react to what life demands from us. My background has led me to successfully train a wide range of high-level athletes, including hockey players, baseball players, basketball players, and boxers. By utilizing my educational experience within high performance conditioning and exercise science, I incorporate both functional and sport-specific training regimes in order to get the best out of my athletes, as well as to prevent injury.

Tiagra is a personal trainer and yoga teacher with 7 years of experience in the health & fitness field. She is a Pain-Free-Performance (PPSC) Specialist, PPSC Mobility Specialist, and Kettlebell Specialist. Tiagra focuses on sustainable strength, mobility, and real-life wellness. She has a deep understanding of biomechanics and her approach prioritizes functional movement, joint health, and long-term consistency.

She loves to work with clients who want to feel stronger, move better, and build a healthier relationship with exercise without living in the extremes.  Tiagra’s coaching style is grounded, adaptable, and rooted in the belief that health should support your life, not take it over.
